Space, Separation and Connection

Scroll ā†“

For this project, students were given a blank half cube and two simple staircases. The brief was to place these stair in the cube in ways that create space and transform the empty cube into something else.

Once the stairs were placed, a simple extrusion separates the top half and bottom half of the cube

At this point in the project, archways of varying sizes were given and used to create openings that were used to connect spaces. Using this, the top and bottom half were connected, allowing movement throughout the entire cube.

Some of the archways were expanded to open up the spaces and allow for more light
